What is Counselling

Counselling is a journey by which people are helped to gain fresh insight to have a different outlook and to find motivation.

Over a number of one to one confidential and supportive sessions counselling will help you make changes in your life.

Counselling facilities the sharing of thoughts and feelings, empowering people to identify their own answers and to feel more in control of their own life.

Counselling involves acceptance and respect for each individual. This allows the client to be confident that they will not be judged and that a valuable relationship will develop.

The aim of counselling is to encourage people to find their own solutions – it is not about giving advice or instruction.

How Can I as a Counsellor Help?

By talking about your problems and feelings you can gain a better understanding of your feelings and thought process as well as recognising your own strengths and capabilities and thus come to identify solutions to your problems. I am confident that with my wealth of experience I will be able to work and support you to find your own solution.

Counselling can show you how to:

  • Be creative to enable you to lead a more enriched and enjoyable life
  • Create and think positively of relationships
  • Deal with anger and frustration
  • Deal with the past, present and future effectively
  • Identify learned behaviours which can inhibit us reaching our full potential
  • Obtain better coping mechanisms to deal with stress and anxiety effectively
